Let your body speak.
Explore movement and dance. Notice the state you’re in and what happens when you let your body express it. Give your emotions another way to be heard.
The retreat workshop · with Charbel
Move. Make a sound. Meet each other in a new way.
A guided group workshop that makes space for freer expression, real connection and the joy of playing together.

An invitation to loosen up
A different way to meet each other.
Sometimes we hold back without noticing.
We keep a thought to ourselves.
We make our voice a little smaller.
We stay with what feels familiar.

Play offers somewhere to try something else. Through theatre improvisation, movement, dance and voice-opening exercises, Charbel invites you to explore your emotions, connect with your strengths and discover new ways to express yourself.
There’s room to be curious, unsure and imperfect. That’s where the play begins.
What we’ll explore
Explore movement and dance. Notice the state you’re in and what happens when you let your body express it. Give your emotions another way to be heard.
Open your voice through playful exercises and theatre improvisation. Follow your imagination, try a different way of expressing yourself and discover what you have to share.
Listen closely. Mirror and copy. Support a partner. Playing together asks you to notice another person, respond to what they offer and make something neither of you could have planned alone.
The thread through the play
Charbel’s Three S method gives the experience a simple thread: State, Story, Strategy. Notice what’s here. Explore what it means to you. Try a new way forward.
How am I, right now?
Notice the state you’re in: the feelings, energy and tension you bring into the room.
What am I telling myself?
Explore the story you’re carrying and how it shapes the way you show up.
What else could I try?
Experiment with a new response through movement, imagination and interaction.
A different relationship with mistakes

An unexpected gesture. A moment of chaos. Something that doesn’t go to plan. In play, each can become something to work with. Together, we explore how mistakes can open up creativity, connection and possibilities we didn’t see coming.
See where it takes you.

Meet your facilitator · Playing alongside you
From Tension to Play grew out of Charbel’s own experience of living with tension and finding a different way through it: playful improvisation, movement, voice and imagination.
In this workshop, he brings those practices into the group. He guides the activities and the Three S method, inviting people to connect with themselves, support one another and express themselves with greater freedom.
“Helping one another shine.”

Enquire about your workshopBefore we play
Two hours of guided play that gives your group a different way to meet each other. Through theatre improvisation, movement, dance and voice, people get room to express themselves more freely, notice one another and enjoy playing together. Nobody needs improv or performance experience.
No. One-to-one sessions are private, online and shaped around one person. The retreat workshop is made for a group in the same room, with exercises built around partners, listening and shared play. You can read about the one-to-one sessions separately.
Send Charbel a short note about your group and your retreat: when, where, and roughly how many people. He’ll suggest a short planning call, then confirm a quote including any travel. From there, he prepares the workshop around your programme.
For retreat organisers
Tell Charbel a little about the people you’re bringing together and the retreat you’re imagining. Start with a conversation about the workshop and what it could bring to your programme.
